To add or change the default user name for the vss login you should do as mention below
(1) Add environment variables of SSUSER in your system and set username as a value.
To do this in XP, got to Start->Control Panel->System.
In there select Advanced Tab and select the Environment Variables. Click New then SSUSER and the required values for the user.
if you want to set the password also then add SSPWD as environment variables and set the password as it’s value.
